Choosing the right veil for your wedding gown dress
Although a veil is not required to be worn during a wedding, many brides opt to have a beautiful veil to accent their wedding gown dress. There are several veil styles to choose from.
Styles
A cathedral veil is mainly used during the more formal wedding. It normally starts at the head and flows down the back of the brides wedding gown dress until it just sweeps the floor or where it drags the floor fully and beautifully.
A blusher veil is one of the more common veils and seems to be more traditional than other veils. The blusher veil is about shoulder length and the bride normally wears this veil over her face. It is removed by the groom only when the bride and groom have been pronounced as husband and wife.
The chapel veil is mainly used for formal weddings, similar to the cathedral veil. This veil is as long as the dress so that it just barely touches the floor. This veil is designed to be shorter if the brides prefers.
The elbow length veil is not as popular, but is used in less formal weddings. This is a veil that is known to be used when couples are renewing their vows.
The finger tip length veil flows to approximately the length of your fingertips. It is normally worn during formal or semi-formal weddings. This veil is one perfect for elegancy and a magical ambience.
Choosing your veil for your wedding gown dress
First, ensure that the veil you have chosen is what you actually want. Don't rely on the fact that someone told you it looked good. You are the bride and you must be happy with the veil.
If your dress is plain, try choosing a veil that has a lot of fabric and detail - something that will catch everyone's eye. Also, if you have a plain dress, opt for a longer veil for elegance.
If your attire has a large amount of detail on the back, steer clear of the longer veils as this will hide the elegant detail and design of your attire. Try a shorter veil that is a bit simpler.
