Informal wedding dress
The informal wedding dress has earned a place in modern society where not all traditions such as long white bridal gowns with a classical inspiration are always followed. As such we also offer a range where you will be able to locate the perfect informal wedding dress.
When to select an informal wedding dress
It may be your second or third wedding and for the occasion you may also want something that will still be appropriate, but not so formal. You may also be of a more mature age and require a garment that will be more fitting than a princess garment. Other instances calling for an informal garment include:
- Small or intimate ceremonies and receptions.
- Island or beach weddings.
- Where your personality and lifestyle will be best represented by an informal reception.
- Ceremony at a small chapel in the mountains or at a game lodge.
- Pricing may be another reason and as such the garment will cost less than the more traditional garment.
Accessories and wearing of the garment
For the informal occasion you can let your hair down and wear an open shoulder garment without a veil and train. In addition the bouquet may be an informal arrangement of flowers such as five tulips or lilies. Less jewellery which of course will not include pearls will be appropriate. You can go with a shorter dress, any colour you fancy and will do well with shoes that compliment the dress. The groom may opt for an open neck shirt and jacket without a tie. Bridesmaids will be a luxury rather than a must have, whilst flower girls and boys may also dress less formal.
A garden reception normally calls for a casual garment which is also very appropriate in the hot summer months. Make no mistake it is just as romantic and can even be more romantic than a traditional reception.
