Bridal dress veil selection tips
When selecting the bridal dress veil you will need to consider the level of formality that you wish to attain. You need a veil that compliments the bridal dress and overall look. The veil shouldn’t overshadow the wedding gown.
The second consideration is that of hair style. Select a veil that will go with your planned hairstyle. If you want a veil that will just be lifted for the reception you will need to adapt the hairstyle to fit the end-look. The other end is also true. Consider how much change will be needed if you want to remove the veil for the wedding reception. A third consideration is that of religion. Select a veil that will be in line with your religious traditions. A few bridal dress veil styles are shared below to help you make an informed decision.
Blusher style
The blusher style entails one layer that is draped over the face for the actual ceremony and then draped backwards for the reception. It can be worn in combination with a longer veil that can be removed after the ceremony.
Cathedral style
The cathedral style veil is long and drapes almost the entire length of the bridal dress. It is only suitable for a long wedding garment and for extremely formal weddings. It is best worn with a garment that has a long train.
Double style
This style entails two layers which differ in length. It has far more volume than one layer and as such should be carefully selected to prevent the wedding gown being overshadowed.
